Conductor…
Greg Metzler is the Assistant Conductor of the Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra.
Gregory Metzler received his degree in Viola Performance from Towson University where he studied viola with Sherrie Norwitz and chamber music with Cecylia Barczyk. He has been an active violist in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas, performing with the Columbia Orchestra, and as Principal Violist with the Londontowne Symphony and the Baltimore Philharmonia Orchestra. Mr. Metzler is a member of the Castaglia String Quartet and the Concord Ensemble. He has also served as conductor and coach with the Maryland Youth Symphony Orchestra, at which time he studied conducting under Angelo Gatto, himself a student of Victor de Sabata. Mr. Metzler is also a Strings specialist in Anne Arundel County Public Schools.
